After a less academic and more skills based fortnight for the Easter holidays, we have been back to a stricter schedule this week. Here is the plan versus the reality:

Matthew used Scratch to produce a quiz: this was much trickier than we imagined and we’d had no instructions from his school so had to rely on good old Youtube.
Anya drew a treasure map and family tree.

We did a little bit of spelling and Maths but the younger two wanted to learn how to use Scratch from their patient older brother!

Project 5: the Tudors (monarchs and their spouses, family connections)
I used the family tree from Twinkl and hoped the children would use the computer to research the Tudor family but they weren’t really interested and my hope to find a passionate historian amongst my children was shattered 🙁

Matthew has struggled with several of the Year 5 and 6 spellings so I asked him to pick 15 tricky ones and create a wordsearch. Anya completed some reading comprehension provided by her school.

Matthew and Anya then completed a worksheet from Twinkl on French numbers and we watched another video to learn colours and write them out

Complete fail on this one. Matthew was busy with Lego and Anya and Zach were having fun in the garden and it seemed a shame to disturb them. I did get Anya to make a natural symmetrical sculture which was a task set by her school so I did manage to sneak in a tiny bit of work!
