OK straight down to advice. This is my 9th Christmas as a mum so here are my top tips for survival based on my own experiences.
-
Be realistic. About presents (that pony is NOT arriving), behaviour expectations (the kids will not transform into angels for the day), food (they will have had snacks so may not want much dinner) and everything else.
-
Be prepared. Make sure presents are wrapped in advance to avoid surprise discovery. Get as much done while they are at school so you can enjoy time together during the holidays.
-
Be organised. Know what the plans are for each day, including visitors and meal planning.
-
Be thoughtful. You know your kids best. You know what they will love and what they willl find a struggle. Use that knowledge to reduce potential conflict.

BUY BATTERIES!!!
