The shy girl hosting a party? Seriously?!
I only went and did it! Yay me!
I was inspired to support Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party so that they can continue with their work to help people with terminal illnesses and their families.
I cheated a little and bought a few cakes but also got busy in the kitchen making little fairy cakes and jam tarts (‘normal’ and wheat free)
So the morning itself arrived. I woke up oblivious and then remembered… I felt sooooo sick with nerves and wanted to cancel the whole thing and just donate some money myself 🙁
But I didn’t. I want to be a good role model for my children so despite my nerves I headed over to my daughter’s preschool to set up.
These little guys loved making a #cakeface !
So now it’s all over! I had the opportunity to sit and chat with some lovely mums and other members of the community. A big thank you goes to Spring Preschool in Blackwater for helping me to organise this event.
I really enjoyed it so thanks to everyone who supported me by providing cakes or donating money 🙂 I will be handing over £50 to Marie Curie this weekend.
Please support any local Blooming Great Tea Parties (the event runs 23rd-25th June) or donate online. Your money can make a huge difference to those coming to terms with their own mortality or facing the loss of a loved one.
