Oh dear. Chris and I have foolishly decided to mark Zach’s first birthday with not one but TWO parties. It has just occurred to me that this will necessitate TWO cakes 🙁

I am possibly the least creative person I know. Matthew and Anya frequently over estimate my skills. Here are last year’s efforts, an A4 Silver Link and a butterfly (which Anya still can’t see!)

Then there was Chris’ birthday cake as a Lego block:

I’m thinking that for the parties I will just do a basic cake as there won’t be much time due to preparations. However, on his actual birthday I think I will make Zach a cake, possibly use an idea from my childhood: a clock or a hedgehog. Fingers crossed he doesn’t have high standards. Watch this space next month…
