Zach was over the moon to try out the Kid K’nex Zoo Friends. I think the inclusion of eyes really appealed to him in a way that the structure building sets do not yet. The set has 55 pieces in a variety of bright colours.

We got straight on with assembling the dog. The pieces were easy to fit together and made really effective shapes to represent the different animals and their bodies. There are no specific instructions. However, it is simple to use the pictures to see which pieces are needed and how they fit together. Over 30 different animals can be made (but not at the same time).

Zach was very confident in finding and constructing the pieces. He carried on playing for ages independently and made several other animals. I would have liked more than one pair of eyes to allow for multiple animals to be made at once so they could be played with together.

The Kid K’Nex Zoo Friends set is suitable for children aged 3+. Zach is 6 and was happily following the pictures but younger children will need help to locate and fit the pieces. This set has an RRP of £20 and is available from a range of retailers incluidng Amazon.
